Important Eventing Update comes into effect July 1

Vanessa Fuchsbichler, Wednesday, 15 June 2011

It may be of some interest for you to note that there will be some changes re: FEI registration as of 1st July, 2011.

If you compete unregistered and do not register within the time frame allowed, you will be charged 100 Swiss Francs, so please ensure as it is easier for everyone, that you are registered PRIOR to competing in an FEI event.

FEI General Regulations - Article 113 - Registration of Athletes and Horses

1.       All Athletes and Horses must be registered with the FEI, their own NF and, where appropriate, with their host NF, before they can be permitted to take part in an International Event, unless otherwise specified by the Sport Rules. (See also Article 119- Sport Nationality Status of Athletes and Chapter V Horses).

Application of this rule until further notice:

With regard to the issues raised in connection with the registration of athletes and horses the FEI Bureau has agreed to following changes to be applied as of 1 July 2011:

The following applies:

· After each month, the individual FEI sports departments will advise all National Federations of the identity of all non-registered athletes and horses that have competed during that month.

· For all disciplines except for Jumping, NFs will be given two (2) weeks to register the athletes/horses.

· For Jumping, NFs will only be given three (3) working days to register athletes/horses.

After the two (2) week window for the other disciplines and the three (3) working days window for Jumping, the FEI will again write to all NFs confirming which athletes and horses remain unregistered. If NFs still want to register these unregistered horses and athletes, a late registration fee of 100 CHF per athlete/horse will be applied. However, ranking points and qualifications will only be awarded in the next cycle of publication.

Feel free to pass this around to anyone who might be interested.
